Hyderabad to Tashkent Direct: India's New Gateway to the Silk Road

Is there a direct flight from Hyderabad to Tashkent? Yes. Since 28 September 2026, Centrum Air has flown direct between Hyderabad and Tashkent twice a week, making Hyderabad the airline's second Indian gateway after New Delhi — and putting Samarkand, Bukhara and the whole Silk Road within one overnight flight of South India.

Imagine boarding in Hyderabad in the small hours and stepping out into a Tashkent morning: wide avenues, plane trees turning gold, the first tea of the day already poured in a chaikhana. By the afternoon you can be walking through Chorsu Bazaar; two days later you can be standing in Samarkand's Registan as the tiles catch the evening light. For travellers from Telangana and the wider South Indian market, the Silk Road has just moved much closer.

Hyderabad–Tashkent flight schedule

According to Travel Trade Journal's report on the launch, the new service operates with the following timings (all local):

  • C6 552 Hyderabad → Tashkent: Tuesdays and Fridays, departs 03:35, arrives 07:45.
  • C6 551 Tashkent → Hyderabad: departs Mondays at 21:00 and Thursdays at 21:30, arriving 02:20 the following day.

The inaugural flight left Hyderabad International Airport on 28 September 2026. Together with its five weekly New Delhi–Tashkent flights, Centrum Air now operates seven weekly services between India and Uzbekistan, and Tashkent works as a hub for onward connections. Hot vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals are offered on board.

Uzbekistan visa for Indians: what changed in 2026

During Prime Minister Narendra Modi's state visit to Tashkent on 29–30 August 2026, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced a 30-day visa-free regime for Indian citizens, saying it would boost people-to-people contacts, tourism and business, as reported by ANI. He also noted that there are now 14 direct flights a week between the two countries.

Practical advice: before you fly, check the current entry rules on official channels. Until the visa-free rule is confirmed as in force at the border, Indian travellers can apply online through Uzbekistan's official e-visa portal, e-visa.gov.uz. Our team can help you confirm the latest requirements when you book.

Why Indian travellers are discovering Uzbekistan now

The momentum is real. Between 2 and 5 October 2026, twelve representatives of Hyderabad's tourism industry visited Uzbekistan on a familiarisation trip linked to the new route, meeting Uzbek tour operators at the Uzbekistan–India Travel & Tourism Business Forum in Tashkent, held with the support of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, UzDaily reported. On the table: historical and cultural routes through Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, plus gastronomy, ecotourism and pilgrimage travel.

Numbers are growing too: Uzbekistan's statistics, reported by China News Service, show 39,500 visitors from India in January–August 2026, out of about 9.1 million foreign visitors in total. And the cultural bridge is old and warm — Tashkent is home to the Lal Bahadur Shastri Center for Indian Culture, and yoga has its own national federation in Uzbekistan.

A first Uzbekistan itinerary from Hyderabad

  • Days 4–5 – Bukhara: trading domes, Po-i-Kalyan and evenings by Lyab-i-Hauz.
  • Days 6–7 – Tashkent: return by train, enjoy a final day in the capital, and connect to the Monday or Thursday evening flight home — a week that fits both departure days.
