Tour description
A 10-day private tour covering all of Uzbekistan's Silk Road highlights — Tashkent, Samarkand, Shakhrisabz, a night in a desert yurt camp, Bukhara and Khiva. Price from $2,100 per person; private guides and drivers; Afrosiyob train and domestic flight included. Operated by GoUzbekistan (Lochin Express Plyus LLC, licence No. 662280, since 2007, offices in Tashkent and Bukhara).
What makes this route different
- A day trip to Shakhrisabz, birthplace of Amir Timur, across the Takhtakaracha mountain pass.
- A night at the Aydarkul yurt camp in the Kyzylkum desert, with dinner by the fire.
- Overland drive Bukhara–Khiva across the desert and along the Amu Darya, then a flight back from Urgench — no backtracking.
Local tips from our team
- Best seasons: April–early June and September–October; summer afternoons in Khiva exceed 40°C.
- Climb the Islam Khoja minaret in Khiva before 10:00 for the view without crowds.
- Bring a warm layer for the yurt camp: desert nights are cool even in spring.
