The rush for routes has been good news for fares too: average ticket prices on China-Uzbekistan routes have fallen by roughly 20 percent overall, with the steepest drops on the Sanya (30%), Beijing (26%) and Shanghai (25%) corridors. For a market long accustomed to layovers in Moscow, Dubai or Istanbul, a direct, affordable hop to the heart of the Silk Road is a genuine novelty — and Chinese travelers are booking accordingly.
