MoreA newly updated guidebook about Uzbekistan’s tourism potential has been published in Japan.

The 144-page book "First Trip to Uzbekistan" provides information about 44 tourist attractions in Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva. It is illustrated with over 700 photographs capturing the unique atmosphere of these cities.
The book covers Samarkand, a renowned tourist destination home to Uzbekistan’s oldest architectural monuments; Bukhara, an oasis in the desert; Khiva, a fortress-city in the sands; and the capital, Tashkent.
The guidebook features details about popular tourist spots, architectural landmarks, national dishes, and top hotels in each city. It also includes a list of must-try Uzbek dishes and recommended souvenirs, making it a convenient handbook for first-time visitors to the country.
Sharing his impressions of working on the book, the author said: "After a five-year break, I visited Uzbekistan again and was amazed at how much the country has developed beyond my expectations. It is evident that large-scale reforms have taken place during the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope this book will allow readers to get acquainted with modern Uzbekistan, its historical sites connected to the Great Silk Road, and its unique national cuisine."
