Registan Square — The Heart of Samarkand
Registan is not just a square; it is the hallmark of all Uzbekistan. The ensemble of three majestic madrasahs (Ulugbek, Sherdor, and Tilla-Kari) amazes with its monumentality and azure mosaics. Every stone here breathes the history of the Timurid era.
Tourists should visit twice: during the day to examine the finest majolica patterns, and in the evening when modern illumination turns the square into a setting for an Oriental fairy tale. It is the perfect spot for those wanting to feel the grandeur of the ancient Silk Road.
Itchan Kala — An Open-Air Museum City
Khiva is a place where time has stood still. The inner city of Itchan Kala, enclosed by massive clay walls, is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Walking through its narrow streets, you won't find modern buildings—only authentic minarets, mosques, and artisan workshops.
Be sure to climb the Islam Khoja minaret for a bird's-eye view of the city: endless domes and flat rooftops create a unique silhouette. Khiva offers an immersive experience into the atmosphere of the medieval East unlike anywhere else in the world.
Poi Kalyan Ensemble in Bukhara
Bukhara is the "Noble City," and its spiritual center is the Poi Kalyan complex. The majestic Kalyan Minaret, built in the 12th century, so impressed Genghis Khan that he ordered it to be spared from destruction. It towers over the city, serving as a landmark for pilgrims and travelers for centuries.
Nearby are the mosque and the Mir-i-Arab Madrasah. This place is imbued with the tranquility and wisdom of the ages. Walking here at sunset, you will feel the special energy of the old city, where trading domes and ancient walls remember the steps of caravans.
Tashkent Metro — The Underground Palace
The capital of Uzbekistan surprises not only with modern parks but also with its metro system. It is one of the most beautiful subways in the world. Every station is a work of art, decorated with marble, granite, crystal, and artistic ceramics.
Don't miss the "Kosmonavtlar" station with its space theme and "Alisher Navoi" with its stunning domes. A journey underground in Tashkent becomes a real tour of the country's history and culture, all for the price of a standard ticket.
